August marks my third (and final) month with KlutchClub. Subscriptions are $18/month, and KlutchClub offer boxes specifically curated for women, men, and moms.
Penta Ultra-Purified Water ($1.46) Penta water is "ultra purified," and it goes through an 11 hour, 13 step filtration process. While I appreciate purified water, I don't think I need my water to be quite that pure. I'm a little miffed that they'd include water in this box (really? just water?), but after the nasty tea drink they included in my June box, I won't complain. At least this will be appreciated!
Organic Meets Good Antioxidant Powder ($1.46) At first I thought this was tea, since it says "green tea" right on the label. Upon further inspection, though, this is actually antioxidant powder that you can add to yogurt or smoothies to up your intake. I think this will go to one of my health nut friends. And yes, this product is valued at $1.46 as well as the water bottle--I triple checked!
Annie Chun's Roasted Seaweed Snacks in Sesame ($2.24) Seaweed? Again? No!! I am haunted by seaweed in all my subscription boxes. It's just not my thing. Luckily I have some friends that like it, but they are probably getting overwhelmed with all the seaweed I've been foisting on them recently.
Fig Bar in Whole Wheat Blueberry ($.75) I tried this in my July Love with Food box, except in the strawberry flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't my favorite either. It was basically a thicker, healthier version of a Fig Newton. Fig Newtons are hearty enough as is, so I didn't really appreciate the denseness, but if I was really famished I would probably appreciate it. At least I'll eat it, though! (I'm looking at you, seaweed...)
Juice Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer ($7) I still have teenager-like skin--oily, especially in my t-zone, and acne prone. So, really, the last thing I need is a moisturizer. I got this in a full size in a PopSugar box a few months back, and I passed it along to my mom since I almost never use moisturizers and that's one of the few items she does use. I decided to try this smaller sized sample out, though.
This was relatively well-received in the PopSugar box, though everyone commented on the scent. It smells like lemon cleaning products. Not lemon, not citrus, but very specifically like cleaning products. Sort of like Pledge or Mr. Clean I guess. I can't say I hate the smell, but I literally felt like I smeared some furniture polish all over my face. My skin didn't seem to absorb it very well either. I didn't apply much, but what I did apply stuck around on the surface in a pastey sort of way, and I had to wipe most of it off. Not to mention, this little half full tube has a $7 valuation. Expensive! It was okay after it soaked in, though not something I would seek out.
PopChips Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips ($.40) If you can't tell from the photo, this is a tiny bag--less than half the size of the normal PopChip single serve bags. Usable, and healthier than Doritos, but nothing exciting.
Puracyn Wound Spray ($4.94) This is kind of a nifty product. From the sounds of it, you clean wounds with it before bandaging them to prevent infection. Not something I'd normally buy, but in this case that's a good thing. I don't anticipate lots of wounds in my future (this would be better if I had kids that got regular cuts and scrapes), but the next time I get a cut I'll be prepared!
This box ended up being valued at $18.25. So, basically, breaking even. I'm okay with breaking even if I like and will use everything I receive, but in this case I only will use about half the products, and even of those, there are none I'm super pumped about. With this box you're essentially paying for the curation, but I don't think I'm granola enough for KlutchClub. I really wish I was, but I think Bulu Box might be more my speed in terms of healthy subscriptions. I don't quite hate it, but I'm very happy to let my subscription run out. This is not one I'll be missing.

KlutchClub Review July 2013
I'm very behind with this review, but this is my second KlutchClub of a three month subscription.
As usual, Oliver wants to check out my boxes even more than I do.
Botanical Interests Wheatgrass Seeds ($1.69/each, $3.38) I have no plans to grow this for my own use, but it's kind of a cool item to include in a health focused box like this. I wonder if cats eat wheatgrass? Hmm...
Earnest Eats Dark Choco Espresso Whole Food Bar ($1.75) I don't like coffee, so this will go to a friend. Not a bad item, though!
Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips in Sea Salt ($1.25) I have no problems with normal corn tortilla chips, but these will be eaten.
Puritan's Pride Raspberry Ketone Capsules, 30 count ($2.99) I had no idea what these were, so I looked them up. It appear they are supposed to help with weight loss. I'm not sure that I buy it, but I'll give it a shot.
Power Bar Performance Energy Blends in Banana Blueberry and Apple Mango Strawberry ($2.19/each, $4.38) I'm excited to try these! I like similar applesauce pouches, so I bet these will be great.
Soy Greek Yogurt Good Greens Bar in Blueberry Bliss ($2.99) I'm excited to try this. It looks tasty!
Nawgan Alertness Beverage in Mandarin Orange ($3.91) I'm in grad school, so this will come in handy. I'll drink this before I do some serious reading.
Flavrz Liquid Drink Mix in Fruit Punch ($5.62) Hopefully I like the way these taste, but they sound like they could be good.
This box ended up being about $25 value. Not bad since I got a deal on my three month subscription, but I would never pay the regular $18/month price. This month was way better than last month, but beauty/clothes/lifestyle boxes are way better suited for me.

KlutchClub June 2013 Review
I got a good deal on a three month KlutchClub subscription on Plum District the other day and I just got my first box.
This month's box was spa themed, so I just had to start my subscription this month. Spa means lots of beauty products, right?
Happy Squeeze Fruit & Veggie Twist ($1.66, according to Amazon prices) Blueberry, apple, and...carrot? I know you're probably not supposed to be able to taste the carrot, but I just can't get past the idea. Give me blueberry applesauce and a couple carrots on the side, not this weird frankenstein puree. This would be great to trick my kids with if I had any.
Goldbaum's Pop Potato Chips in Original ($.64) This is the saddest, flattest bag of chips I've ever seen. It's teensy and I don't know if somehow there's a hole in it or something but there's no air in the bag to keep them protected. I'll try them and I bet I'll like them, but .6 ounces isn't likely to be terribly satisfying.
Immuno Viva Defend + Energy ($1.98) I will use these, but I'm not terribly excited for them.
7th Heaven Clean Up Mud Mask ($2.99) I love masks. I rarely buy them for myself, so they're really a treat when they're included in subscription boxes like this!
ThinkThin Crunch in "Trial Size" (~$.66) This doesn't list the size in ounces anywhere on it except to say that it's a "trial size." Looks good, but I wish I got two of them, or it was full size.
ThinkThin Chunky Peanut Butter ($1.99) I've gotten this in two other subscription boxes, and unfortunately it's my least favorite ThinkThin flavor I've had so far. I'll eat it again, but it's definitely not my favorite.
Tea of a Kind ($2.50) This is Citrus Mint Green Tea. Again, I'll try it, but I probably wouldn't have purchased it on my own.
So according to my price breakdown, this box is about $12.50 worth of product. That's a generous approximation since most food items are cheaper in-store, and I was using online prices. I feel like I may have been overly negative in my review, but honestly, this box retails for $18/month. KlutchClub should at least aim to break even, and there's a big difference between $12.50 and $18. I didn't feel like the box lived up to its "spa" theme, and I wasn't terribly excited for any of the products. We'll see what next month brings, but...I definitely won't be resubscribing after my three months is up. Disappointing to say the least.

Deal Alert! KLUTCH Club
Plum District is offering an extra 30% off everything today only for their third birthday. They have a three month subscription to Klutch Club for only $11; with the discount it's only $7.70! What a deal!
I tried Klutch Club out a few months ago and I really liked it. I don't consider myself into "wellness" boxes, but Klutch Club really uses the phrase "wellness" pretty broadly (I know for sure I got a lip gloss, a twist band, and a Dream Water)! If you're interested, click here to redeem.
